Varifocal fitting measurement — in-store calibration testing

Collecting real measured fitting heights alongside AI estimates, to build an actual calibration model once there's enough data.

What this tool does now: for each frame + person tested in-store, fit the real frame and measure the fitting height with your usual tool, enter that number, then run the AI estimate on the same person/frame and save both together. Every saved record keeps the AI's individual sample readings too, not just the average — that's the actual data this calibration effort needs. Nothing here is customer-facing; this is purely for building the dataset. If a frame has no lens height on Shopify yet, you'll be asked to measure and enter it yourself in step 1 before you can carry on — that value is used for this test and saved with the record, but it isn't written back to Shopify.

1. Choose a frame

Search your live catalog for the exact frame being tested. If it has no lens height on file yet, you'll be asked to measure and enter it right here before moving on.

2. Upload a photo

A clear, front-facing photo of the person being tested, looking straight at the camera with even lighting. No card or reference object needed — calibration comes from the iris itself.

3. Real fitting height (measured manually)

Fit the actual frame on the person and measure with your usual tool. This is the ground truth every AI reading gets compared against — enter exactly what you measured.

4. AI multi-sample estimate

Generates several independent AI try-on composites of this exact frame on this photo. In each one, locates the lens's top edge, bottom edge, and the pupil, and expresses the pupil's position as a percentage of that specific lens's real height — which mathematically guarantees the result can never exceed the lens itself, regardless of what the AI generates. Averages across samples, discarding statistical outliers first. Uses whichever lens height you confirmed in step 1, whether that came from Shopify or your own measurement.

5. Notes & save

Saves the frame, real measured height, and every individual AI reading together.
